| Spring 2008 WordPlay Children's Book Club It’s all about the kid’s. This peer-motivated activity can help a child realize reading is a fun, adventurous alternative to television. Participation has extremely positive effects on academic and social performance. Children ages 7-12 of varying reading levels read, work and play as they discuss stories of their choice. Additionally, in place of the traditional book report, the children use various forms of artistic expression to demonstrate the knowledge gained from reading. Spring Cleaning 2008 Shoes4Shortees Breathing New Life into Old Soles Breathing New Life into Old Soles during the month of March, the wonderful local elementary schools students encouraged friends and family to donate new and gently worn shoes to benefit children and families in need.
